Cultural shake" Erasmus+ project continues

Continuing the "Cultural shake" Erasmus+ project, the young people of Ibarra and Oñati will be in the Italian town of Manerba del Garda between the 2nd and the 7th of December to carry out a youth exchange on interculturalism.

45 young people from Italy, Oñati and Ibarra met in Gipuzkoa between the 10th and 15th of last October for the "Cultural shake: tomorrow begins today" Erasmus+ project. This time, the young people of Ibarra and Oñati will travel to Italy, to the town of Manerba del Garda. There, among other things, they will discover the work carried out by various associations that work with immigrants in the province of Brescia, they will visit the "Senzatomica" exhibition on peace and nuclear disarmament, they will immerse themselves in Italian culture, and they will also be introduced to Basque culture. Through the exchange of young people of different origins, we want to give young people between the ages of 16 and 18 the opportunity to immerse themselves in cultural learning, to discover the cultures, traditions, experiences and life histories of different people, taking them out of their comfort zone and confronting their prejudices and fears. Our intention is to develop the ability of the participants to make a critical analysis, to ignore the stereotypes that determine the daily social relations. At the same time, we want to develop the intercultural interest of young people, promote a critical look at diversity, what is happening in the world today, and develop new approaches to act in a positive way in local realities. Thus, starting locally, we want to create dynamics that will create a multiplier effect and encourage actions that will spread beyond everyday reality.
